Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis pipelines using Python and R.
- Design and implement machine learning models to identify novel drug targets, pathways, and biomarkers.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including molecular biologists, chemists, and clinical researchers, to integrate data into therapeutic strategies.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and strict compliance with GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and GDP (Good Data Practice) standards.
- Present complex biological findings and model performance metrics to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor junior scientists and contribute to the technical roadmap of the bioinformatics department.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in genomics, AI, and pharmaceutical technologies.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, Systems Biology, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or academic research setting.
- Strong proficiency in Python, R, and SQL; experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) is a significant plus.
- Extensive experience with genomic data processing tools (e.g., GATK, STAR, BWA, Samtools) and workflows (e.g., Nextflow, Snakemake).
- Deep understanding of statistical analysis and machine learning algorithms applied to biological datasets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical data into actionable business insights.
