Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptual design and schematic design phases of architectural projects, ensuring they align with client vision and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and review detailed construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and schedules, ensuring high-quality standards.
- Conduct site visits, feasibility studies, and coordinate with structural, MEP, and civil engineers to resolve technical issues.
- Present design concepts and progress updates to clients and stakeholders, effectively communicating complex ideas.
- Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring deliverables are met within scope and cost constraints.
- Mentor and guide junior staff and interns, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, building codes, and innovative materials to integrate into designs.
Qualifications
- Master of Architecture (M.Arch) degree from an accredited program; Bachelor’s degree plus significant experience may be considered.
- Professional License (AIA) is highly preferred.
- 5+ years of professional experience in architectural design, preferably in a firm handling large-scale commercial or mixed-use projects.
- Expert proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of design styles, technical skills, and project management experience.
- Knowledge of local New York building codes, zoning laws, and sustainability standards (LEED).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to diverse audiences.
