Responsibilities
- Design Leadership: Lead the conceptualization, schematic design, and design development phases for commercial and residential projects, ensuring alignment with client vision and brand standards.
- Technical Proficiency: Create high-level construction documents, 3D renderings, and detailed drawings using industry-standard software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp.
- Compliance & Regulations: Ensure all designs strictly adhere to local building codes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations specific to New York City.
- Client Communication: Present design concepts and technical proposals to clients and stakeholders, articulating design rationale and handling feedback professionally.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with structural, MEP, and interior design teams to resolve technical conflicts and ensure project milestones are met efficiently.
- Material Selection: Curate high-quality materials, finishes, and furnishings that enhance the architectural integrity and aesthetic appeal of the project.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in architectural design, preferably within a high-profile firm or freelance context.
- Licensure: Licensed Architect (AIA) or LEED Accredited Professional preferred.
- Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Portfolio: A robust portfolio demonstrating strong spatial reasoning, technical drafting skills, and a sophisticated design aesthetic.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas to non-technical audiences.
- Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
