Responsibilities
- Lead and manage architectural design projects from schematic design through construction administration, ensuring adherence to project goals, budget, and schedule.
- Develop detailed design solutions, prepare comprehensive construction documents, and produce high-quality presentations and renderings.
- Coordinate effectively with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, consultants, clients, and contractors to ensure seamless project integration and communication.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior architects and design staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
- Conduct site visits, respond to RFI’s, and participate in construction administration activities to ensure design intent is maintained.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, zoning ordinances, and accessibility standards.
- Actively participate in client meetings, design reviews, and presentations, effectively communicating design concepts and project progress.
- Research and integrate innovative materials, technologies, and sustainable design practices into projects.
Qualifications
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive professional experience in an architectural firm, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse project types.
- Licensed Architect (AIA or equivalent) strongly preferred; candidates on track for licensure with exceptional experience will also be considered.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Demonstrated experience in all phases of architectural project delivery, from conceptual design to construction administration.
- Thorough understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction techniques relevant to New York City.
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex design ideas effectively.
- Experience with sustainable design principles (LEED AP certification is a plus).
- Strong leadership abilities and a proven track record of managing project teams effectively.
