Responsibilities

  • Lead Design & Documentation: Spearhead the architectural design process from conceptualization through construction documentation, ensuring alignment with client vision and project goals.
  • Client Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, conducting site visits, lead meetings, and presenting design concepts and revisions effectively.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs strictly adhere to local, state, and federal building codes, zoning laws, and sustainability standards (LEED/WELL).
  • Team Mentorship: Guide junior architects and interns, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and fostering a collaborative studio environment.
  • Technical Drafting: Oversee the creation of detailed architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Project Management: Coordinate with structural, MEP, and interior design consultants to resolve technical conflicts and ensure seamless project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Education: Professional Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (M.Arch or B.Arch) required.
  • Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Architect (RA) in New York State is mandatory.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in architectural design, preferably within a commercial or mixed-use sector.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp. Experience with BIM coordination is highly preferred.
  • Portfolio: A strong, professional portfolio demonstrating a range of project types and design capabilities.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
