Responsibilities
- Lead Design: Direct the architectural design process, including conceptualization, spatial planning, and detailed design development for diverse project types.
- Client Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, presenting design concepts, managing expectations, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Technical Oversight: Oversee the production of high-quality drawings, specifications, and construction documents ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior architects and design staff, providing technical guidance and fostering a creative team environment.
- Sustainability: Integrate sustainable design principles and green building certifications (e.g., BREEAM, LEED) into project designs.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate closely with engineers, consultants, and contractors to resolve technical issues and ensure project milestones are met.
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (RIBA Part 2 or equivalent).
- Chartered Status: Fully chartered with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) or equivalent professional body.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of post-qualification experience in architectural design, preferably within a multi-disciplinary practice.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard software including Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, and SketchUp.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of UK Building Regulations, Planning Policy, and construction detailing.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex design ideas clearly.
