Responsibilities
- Develop Pricing Models: Construct and validate complex actuarial models to support pricing decisions for new and existing insurance products.
- Risk Assessment: Analyze historical data and market trends to identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including underwriters and investment managers, to align risk appetite with business objectives.
- Regulatory Reporting: Ensure all actuarial calculations comply with FCA and Solvency II regulatory requirements.
- Performance Review: Conduct regular reviews of loss ratios and reserve adequacy to optimize capital allocation.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the continuous improvement of our actuarial systems and methodologies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in actuarial analysis or a related role within the insurance sector.
- Certification: Fully qualified or nearing completion of the SOA (Society of Actuaries) or IAFE (Institute and Faculty of Actuaries) examinations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SAS, or SQL, and advanced Excel modeling.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical thinking with a proven track record of solving high-stakes financial problems.
