Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized oncology nursing care including chemotherapy administration and symptom management
- Collaborate with oncologists, surgeons, and palliative care specialists to develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide compassionate end-of-life care and psychosocial support to patients and families
- Utilize electronic health records (Epic) for precise documentation and care coordination
- Educate patients on treatment protocols, medication management, and self-care strategies
- Participate in tumor boards and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA protocols and oncology safety standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Illinois
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience
- ONCC certification (OCN or AOCN) required
- Valid BLS and ACLS certifications
- Expertise in chemotherapy administration and vascular access management
- Strong proficiency with electronic health record systems
- Demonstrated ability to provide culturally sensitive care
