Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on nursing standards and physician orders.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with hospital protocols and legal requirements.
- Monitor patient vital signs and response to interventions, alerting the healthcare team to any changes in condition.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including electronic health records (EHR).
- Provide patient education and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care post-discharge.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of New York.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a Medical Surgical or acute care setting preferred.
- Certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance.
