Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and revise individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Monitor and document vital signs, symptoms, and medical histories, reporting changes to physicians promptly.
- Participate in unit meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education programs.
- Ensure a safe and clean patient environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of acute care experience, preferably in a medical-surgical setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
