Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on evidence-based practice.
- Administer medications and treatments while closely monitoring patient responses and vital signs.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, progress notes, and medication administration records.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Respond promptly to code blue situations and emergency medical interventions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for all patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Medical Surgical or Acute Care setting preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume department.
