Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized, patient-centered care plans.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in strict adherence to hospital protocols and physician orders.
- Monitor patients' clinical status continuously, identifying changes and responding immediately to emergencies.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and the wider interdisciplinary team.
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, medication management, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental rounds.
Qualifications
- Current, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Medical-Surgical or Acute Care nursing.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Commitment to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
