Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, specialized nursing care to critically ill patients with life-threatening conditions.
- Continuously monitor patient vital signs, hemodynamics, and cardiac rhythms, intervening immediately when status changes occur.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, respiratory therapists, and specialists to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer complex medications, manage advanced life support systems, and oversee ventilator management.
- Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment protocols, and post-discharge care with empathy and clarity.
- Maintain meticulous clinical documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and peer-review processes to maintain clinical excellence.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas or compact state.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an ICU or high-acuity critical care setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification is highly desirable.
- Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to remain calm under extreme pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interface with diverse patient populations.
