Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, specialized nursing care to critically ill patients with life-threatening conditions.
  • Continuously monitor patient vital signs, hemodynamics, and cardiac rhythms, intervening immediately when status changes occur.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, respiratory therapists, and specialists to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Administer complex medications, manage advanced life support systems, and oversee ventilator management.
  • Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment protocols, and post-discharge care with empathy and clarity.
  • Maintain meticulous clinical documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and peer-review processes to maintain clinical excellence.

Qualifications

  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas or compact state.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an ICU or high-acuity critical care setting.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to remain calm under extreme pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interface with diverse patient populations.
