Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients within the ICU setting.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, interpret vital signs, and respond effectively to emergent situations.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
- Manage and operate complex medical equipment, including ventilators, IV pumps, and cardiac monitors.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, residents, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, procedures, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) and documentation.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant experience considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an acute care ICU setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Proficiency in critical care procedures and equipment, including ventilator management and arterial lines.
- Exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to maintain composure and effectiveness in high-stress environments.
