Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and document the status of critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Administer complex medications, intravenous therapies, and blood products with precision.
- Operate and interpret advanced medical equipment, including ventilators and bedside monitoring systems.
- Collaborate with intensivist physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute patient care plans.
- Advocate for patients and provide essential emotional support to families during high-stress situations.
- Maintain strictly sterile environments and adhere to all infection control protocols.
- Mentor junior nursing staff and participate in ongoing departmental quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU or high-acuity clinical setting.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and CCRN certifications (or eligibility to obtain within 6 months).
- Proven ability to remain calm and decisive under intense pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care.
