Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients in a high-acuity setting.
- Continuously monitor patient vitals, interpret complex cardiac telemetry, and manage advanced life-support equipment.
- Administer specialized medications and titrate infusions while maintaining strict safety protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including intensivists, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists, to develop and adjust patient care plans.
- Serve as a primary advocate for patients and families, ensuring emotional support and clear communication during stressful health events.
- Document all nursing interventions and patient responses with precision in the electronic health record system.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and nursing councils to enhance standards of care.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU, Step-Down, or critical care environment.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and CCRN certifications (preferred).
- Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, preferably Epic.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to maintaining a patient-centered care approach.
