Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and document the physiological and psychological status of critically ill patients.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with physicians and specialists.
- Manage sophisticated life-support equipment, including mechanical ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring systems.
- Administer advanced medications and titrate infusions based on real-time patient stability.
- Facilitate open, empathetic communication with patients and their families regarding treatment options and care goals.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, infection control standards, and HIPAA regulations.
- Mentor junior nursing staff and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an ICU, CCU, or high-acuity setting.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and CCRN certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).
- Demonstrated ability to function calmly and effectively in emergency, life-saving situations.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, preferably Epic.
