Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, high-acuity nursing care to patients with complex medical conditions.
  • Continuously monitor patient vital signs and manage advanced life-support equipment, including ventilators and titration of IV drips.
  • Collaborate effectively with intensivists, respiratory therapists, and surgeons to execute complex care plans.
  • Perform thorough patient assessments and document clinical progress with high accuracy in the EMR.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and nursing councils.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, aseptic techniques, and regulatory hospital policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current, active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU, Step-Down, or CCU setting.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and CCRN certification (preferred).
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to function calmly under extreme pressure.
  • Proven ability to advocate for patients while communicating effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Epic or Cerner.
