Responsibilities
- Monitor and continuously assess patient vitals and medical conditions using advanced monitoring equipment.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic procedures according to strict physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust patient care plans.
- Provide clear, compassionate patient education and emotional support to patients and their families during critical times.
- Respond immediately and effectively to medical emergencies and code blue situations.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Qualifications
- Valid and active RN License in New York State (NYS License required).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- BSN preferred; Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with significant ICU experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Critical Care, Telemetry, or Progressive Care Unit.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
