Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and formulate individualized, evidence-based nursing care plans.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies strictly according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic data continuously; intervene immediately in critical situations.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the wider care team to ensure seamless patient transitions and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, medication adherence, and post-discare instructions.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Ensure a safe and sterile environment by strictly adhering to infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State (NYS).
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Critical Care Unit (ICU/CCU) or Progressive Care.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with diverse patient populations.
