Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on clinical needs and patient preferences.
- Administer medications and treatments in strict adherence to hospital protocols and safety guidelines.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond immediately to any changes in condition or medical emergencies.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and the wider healthcare team to ensure holistic patient care.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and code blue response teams.
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York.
- BSN degree preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) considered with significant experience.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a hospital or critical care setting preferred.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care standards.
