Responsibilities
- Monitor and Assess: Continuously monitor patient vitals and conditions to detect changes and intervene immediately when necessary.
- Medication Administration: Accurately administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the wider healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to code blue alerts and critical situations with composure and efficiency.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the New York State Department of Education.
- Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Critical Care, ICU, or Telemetry setting.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Compassion: Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic care to patients in high-stress environments.
