Responsibilities
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
- Continuously monitor, assess, and record vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and neurological status.
- Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and complex treatments safely and accurately.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Respond rapidly to medical emergencies, including code blue situations, and assist in advanced life support.
- Educate and support patients' families, explaining complex medical conditions and treatment protocols with empathy.
- Maintain meticulous and accurate electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with hospital policies and HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in an Intensive Care Unit or Critical Care setting.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to remain calm under extreme pressure.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and critical care equipment.
- Exceptional communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills.
