Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive critical care nursing for post-operative, trauma, and complex medical patients
- Administer medications and treatments with precise attention to dosage protocols
- Monitor and interpret patient vital signs using advanced cardiac monitoring systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Educate patients and families on post-ICU recovery procedures
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation standards
- Participate in rapid response team activations and code blue emergencies
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Illinois (or compact state)
- BSN degree from accredited program (ADN candidates with 3+ years ICU experience considered)
- Minimum 2 years ICU or critical care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Proficiency in Epic EMR system
- Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication abilities with patients, families, and medical teams
- Commitment to continuous learning and evidence-based practice
