Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive critical care nursing for post-surgical, trauma, and medical ICU patients
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders with precise documentation
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, ventilator settings, and hemodynamic parameters
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on disease processes and discharge planning
- Maintain strict compliance with JCAHO and hospital infection control protocols
- Participate in rapid response codes and emergency resuscitation efforts
Qualifications
- Current Illinois RN license (or compact state license)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred (ADN accepted with 2+ years ICU experience)
- ACLS and BLS certifications required; CCRN preferred
- Minimum 2 years critical care experience in acute care setting
- Proficiency with electronic health records (Epic EMR preferred)
- Strong critical thinking and prioritization skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
