Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced critical care to cardiac patients requiring hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
- Perform rapid patient assessments using evidence-based protocols and interpret complex diagnostic data
- Administer specialized medications including vasopressors and antiarrhythmics with precise titration
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care plans with cardiologists, surgeons, and respiratory therapists
- Maintain meticulous documentation in Epic EMR systems ensuring compliance with JCAHO standards
- Mentor new nurses and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Respond to emergency situations with calm, decisive action during code blue events
Qualifications
- BSN or higher degree from an accredited nursing program
- Current NY RN license with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 3 years ICU experience with cardiac specialization preferred
- Expertise in hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and arterial line insertion
- Strong critical thinking skills for rapid assessment of unstable patients
- Proficiency in Epic EMR and telemetry interpretation
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends
