Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in acute care settings with critical thinking and precision
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and interpret diagnostic results
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on health conditions and discharge protocols
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Respond effectively to emergency situations using ACLS/BLS protocols
- Mentor junior nursing staff and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois (or compact license)
- BSN degree required; MSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years ED or critical care experience
- ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications
- Proficiency in Epic EHR systems
- Strong communication and crisis management skills
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights/weekends
- CPR certification and ongoing CEU compliance
