Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized care plans for emergency patients across all age groups
- Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions with precision
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, and support staff
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and preventive care
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and emergency drills
Qualifications
- Valid New York State RN license (required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred (ADN candidates with 2+ years ED experience considered)
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications (or obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with ED/trauma focus preferred
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize complex cases
- Excellent communication skills for diverse patient populations and families
- Proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
