Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions, administer medications, and perform diagnostic procedures in emergency settings
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor vital signs, interpret lab results, and recognize changes in patient status
- Provide trauma-informed care to diverse patient populations including pediatric and geriatric patients
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency response drills
Qualifications
- Valid New York State RN license and BLS/ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EPIC preferred)
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrated cultural competency
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations
