Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and medical histories, reporting any abnormalities to the attending physician immediately.
- Administer medications, treatments, and intravenous (IV) fluids as prescribed, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments to identify changes in condition and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding diagnoses and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
- BSN preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Critical Care or Telemetry setting.
- Strong proficiency in ECG interpretation and ventilator management.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under high-pressure situations.
