Responsibilities
- Deliver expert nursing care to critically ill patients in a 24-bed ICU unit
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and interpret diagnostic results
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on post-treatment care and recovery protocols
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Participate in rapid response team activations and code blue emergencies
- Mentor new nurses and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois RN license (or compact license with quick endorsement)
- BSN degree with 2+ years critical care experience
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Proficiency in Epic EHR and ICU monitoring systems
- Demonstrated expertise in ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
- Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication abilities for complex patient interactions
