Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the cardiology unit including assessment, medication administration, and treatment plans
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry data, responding promptly to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Provide education to patients and families about cardiac health and post-procedure care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate documentation
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New York State
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience in cardiology
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
- Strong knowledge of cardiac medications and procedures
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Experience with electronic health records (Epic preferred)
