Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for post-cardiac surgery patients and acute cardiac conditions
- Administer critical medications and monitor hemodynamic parameters using advanced monitoring systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including cardiologists, perfusionists, and intensivists
- Implement evidence-based clinical protocols for STEMI, arrhythmias, and heart failure management
- Perform rapid patient assessments and intervene in emergency cardiac situations
- Educate patients and families on cardiac disease management and recovery
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR system
Qualifications
- Valid Massachusetts RN license required
- BSN degree with 2+ years critical care experience (cardiac preferred)
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
- Demonstrated expertise in hemodynamic monitoring and invasive procedures
- Strong critical thinking skills in high-acuity environments
- Experience with cardiac telemetry interpretation
- Ability to work rotating nights, weekends, and holidays
