Responsibilities
- Provide specialized cardiac nursing care including telemetry monitoring, post-op recovery, and emergency response
- Administer medications, perform diagnostic procedures, and interpret cardiac rhythms
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans with multidisciplinary teams
- Educate patients and families on cardiac health, medications, and lifestyle modifications
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure regulatory compliance
- Mentor junior staff and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New York State
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; ADN with experience considered
- Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience in cardiac/telemetry setting
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and emergency intervention skills
- Excellent communication abilities with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous learning
