Responsibilities
- Provide specialized cardiac critical care monitoring and intervention for post-op cardiac patients
- Administer complex medications including vasoactive drips and anticoagulants
- Perform advanced cardiac assessments and interpret ECG rhythms
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including cardiologists and perfusionists
- Implement evidence-based protocols for cardiac emergencies
- Train and mentor new nursing staff in cardiac care procedures
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Massachusetts (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years ICU or cardiac telemetry experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- BSN degree (MSN preferred)
- Experience with intra-aortic balloon pump and ventricular assist devices
- Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication skills for family education and team collaboration
