Responsibilities
- Provide critical care monitoring for post-cardiac surgery patients and acute cardiac conditions
- Administer specialized medications and perform advanced cardiac assessments
- Operate and interpret data from advanced cardiac monitoring equipment
- Lead rapid response team activations during cardiac emergencies
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Mentor new nurses and participate in clinical education initiatives
- Ensure compliance with JCAHO and CMS cardiac care standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Illinois (or compact state)
- BSN degree required (MSN preferred)
- Minimum 2 years ICU or cardiac telemetry experience
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications mandatory
- Experience with intra-aortic balloon pumps and ventilators
- Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication abilities for multidisciplinary collaboration
