Responsibilities
- Provide specialized care for post-cardiac surgery patients including hemodynamic monitoring
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol with precise documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for complex patient care plans
- Respond to rapid response and code blue situations with ACLS certification
- Maintain sterile environments during invasive procedures
- Educate patients and families on cardiac health management
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- Current Illinois RN license (or compact license)
- Minimum 2 years ICU/CCU experience required
- ACLS/BLS certifications (required) and NIHSS certification (preferred)
- Experience with vent management and arterial lines
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
