Responsibilities
- Provide advanced cardiac nursing care to critically ill patients post-cardiac surgery
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders with precision
- Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data, ECG rhythms, and ventilator settings
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team for comprehensive patient care plans
- Perform rapid response interventions during cardiac emergencies
- Document patient assessments and interventions in electronic health records
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions and recovery protocols
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois RN license (required)
- BSN degree (ADN candidates with 3+ years ICU experience considered)
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications (mandatory)
- Minimum 2 years recent Cardiac ICU experience
- Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
- Demonstrated critical thinking in emergency cardiac situations
- Strong communication skills for family education and team collaboration
- Experience with Epic EMR system preferred
