Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
- Administer precise medication protocols and interpret EKG rhythms with rapid intervention capabilities
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care plans with cardiologists, surgeons, and case managers
- Implement evidence-based practices for cardiac emergencies and post-procedure recovery
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR system while ensuring regulatory compliance
- Mentor new nurses and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Massachusetts with BSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience with cardiac specialty certification (CCRN) required
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications mandatory
- Expertise in hemodynamic monitoring and advanced cardiac life support
- Strong critical thinking skills with proven crisis management abilities
- Proficiency in Epic EMR and cardiac monitoring equipment
- Excellent communication skills for family education and interdisciplinary collaboration
