Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to inpatient and outpatient cardiology patients, including advanced diagnostic assessment and treatment planning.
- Lead and mentor a dedicated team of clinical nurse practitioners and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
- Collaborate closely with attending cardiologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate complex patient care pathways.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, including EKGs, stress tests, and echocardiograms, formulating precise clinical interventions.
- Manage patient transitions, discharge planning, and post-acute follow-up care to optimize recovery and minimize readmission rates.
- Lead departmental quality improvement initiatives and participate in clinical research protocols to advance cardiovascular medicine.
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited institution.
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Massachusetts (or eligible for immediate licensure).
- Board Certification (AGACNP or FNP) with a minimum of 5 years of dedicated cardiology experience.
- Active Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of mentoring junior staff or leading clinical projects.
- Exceptional communication, clinical judgment, and interpersonal skills to build trust with patients and families.
