Responsibilities
- Perform high-complexity adult cardiac surgical procedures, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and aortic surgery.
- Provide clinical leadership to the cardiovascular surgical department and collaborate with cardiology and anesthesia teams.
- Develop and implement institutional protocols to optimize patient outcomes and reduce recovery times.
- Mentor surgical residents, fellows, and medical staff in complex surgical techniques.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and morbidity/mortality conferences.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for complex patient cases and surgical consultations.
- Contribute to institutional research projects and publications in top-tier medical journals.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certification in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of clinical experience in a high-acuity hospital setting.
- Current, unrestricted medical license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Demonstrated proficiency in minimally invasive cardiac surgical procedures.
- Proven track record of successful departmental leadership and staff management.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
