Responsibilities
- Perform complex cardiovascular procedures, including CABG, valve repair, and aortic surgery.
- Lead multidisciplinary rounds and provide expert clinical oversight for high-risk cardiac patients.
- Drive innovation in minimally invasive surgical techniques and protocols.
- Collaborate with the Cardiology and Anesthesiology departments to ensure seamless patient care pathways.
- Act as a clinical mentor to surgical fellows and residents.
- Oversee departmental compliance with safety and quality outcome metrics.
- Engage in hospital-wide strategic planning to advance cardiothoracic services.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification in Thoracic Surgery.
- Valid medical license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of active clinical experience in a high-volume cardiac surgery center.
- Demonstrated expertise in robotic-assisted cardiac surgery.
- Strong publication record or history of clinical research contributions.
- Proven leadership experience within a teaching hospital environment.
