Responsibilities
- Perform complex cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and aortic surgery.
- Lead multidisciplinary surgical teams in high-acuity operating room environments.
- Develop and implement institutional protocols for perioperative patient management.
- Act as a mentor to surgical residents, fellows, and medical staff.
- Oversee departmental surgical outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with interventional cardiology teams to provide hybrid surgical solutions.
- Participate in clinical research and contribute to peer-reviewed academic publications.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Current, unrestricted medical license in the State of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of post-residency clinical experience in a high-volume surgical center.
- Demonstrated expertise in minimally invasive cardiac surgery techniques.
- Proven track record of departmental leadership and team management.
- Commitment to academic medicine and evidence-based practice.
