Responsibilities
- Perform complex cardiothoracic surgical procedures with precision and adherence to international safety standards.
- Lead multidisciplinary team meetings to determine optimal patient treatment plans.
- Mentor junior surgeons, residents, and fellows within our academic teaching facility.
- Stay at the forefront of medical advancements through clinical research and innovation.
- Maintain comprehensive electronic health records and documentation for all surgical cases.
- Engage with patients and families to provide compassionate pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Collaborate with cardiac anesthesiologists and perfusionists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Minimum of 7 years of clinical experience in a high-volume surgical environment.
- Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Proven track record of leadership in a surgical department or clinical unit.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
- Commitment to ongoing education and medical research publications.
- Advanced fellowship training in a sub-specialty such as congenital or minimally invasive heart surgery preferred.
