We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Lead Cardiac Sonographer to oversee our echo lab operations. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in patient care, ensuring the highest standards of diagnostic accuracy in a fast-paced, prestigious clinical environment.
You will work alongside elite cardiologists and be responsible for mentorship and operational excellence within the department.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms on a diverse patient population.
- Analyze diagnostic images and provide preliminary findings to attending cardiologists.
- Mentor and provide clinical oversight for junior sonographers and imaging staff.
- Ensure all imaging equipment is calibrated, maintained, and operated per safety protocols.
- Maintain meticulous electronic medical records (EMR) and patient documentation.
- Lead departmental quality improvement initiatives to optimize diagnostic workflows.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate complex cardiac procedures.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Sonography program.
- RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) certification via ARDMS or CCI.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a high-volume cardiac lab.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
- Expertise in 3D/4D imaging and strain imaging techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient-centered care and empathy.
- Proven ability to thrive in a high-pressure, mission-critical medical environment.
