Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms with exceptional precision.
- Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to junior sonographers to ensure department-wide adherence to IAC standards.
- Coordinate closely with cardiologists to interpret findings and provide critical diagnostic feedback during acute procedures.
- Maintain and troubleshoot high-end imaging equipment to ensure optimal functionality and patient safety.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance programs and regular case review sessions.
- Develop and implement updated imaging protocols to integrate new cardiovascular technologies into clinical practice.
- Oversee daily department workflow, including scheduling, patient triage, and emergency response.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification through ARDMS is mandatory.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a high-volume hospital or tertiary care setting.
- Demonstrated experience in advanced echocardiography, including strain imaging and 3D acquisition.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record of team management or clinical supervision.
- Excellent communication skills with an empathetic approach to patient interaction.
