Join the elite team at Apex Cardiovascular Institute in the heart of Boston. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Lead Cardiac Sonographer to spearhead our diagnostic imaging department. In this role, you will perform complex echocardiographic procedures, mentor junior staff, and ensure our clinic remains at the forefront of cardiac technology and patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex adult and pediatric echocardiograms with precision.
- Analyze diagnostic findings and provide detailed preliminary reports for cardiology review.
- Oversee daily department operations and maintain high standards of equipment calibration.
- Mentor and provide clinical supervision to junior sonographers and interns.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary medical teams to support individualized patient treatment plans.
- Ensure compliance with IAC accreditation standards and hospital safety protocols.
- Participate in research initiatives and ongoing quality improvement projects.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Current RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) credential through ARDMS.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a high-volume cardiac setting.
- Proficiency in 3D/4D imaging and strain imaging modalities.
- Exceptional critical thinking skills with an eye for subtle diagnostic detail.
- Strong leadership ability and experience in departmental workflow management.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
