Responsibilities
- Perform complex echocardiographic examinations including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms.
- Lead and mentor a team of sonographers, ensuring high standards of image quality and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate closely with cardiologists to provide accurate, timely preliminary diagnostic findings.
- Maintain and troubleshoot sophisticated imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Develop and implement departmental protocols to streamline patient workflows and enhance patient safety.
- Conduct regular quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with IAC accreditation standards.
- Provide compassionate patient care, explaining procedures and addressing concerns to ensure comfort.
Qualifications
- Active RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) certification through the ARDMS.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a high-volume cardiac setting.
- Proven leadership experience or clinical precepting background.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Proficiency in 3D echocardiography and strain imaging techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related healthcare field preferred.
