Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality echocardiographic examinations, including 2D, M-mode, and Doppler, in accordance with ASE standards.
  • Lead and mentor junior sonographers, providing guidance on complex scanning protocols and image optimization.
  • Ensure seamless communication with cardiologists to discuss findings and provide preliminary diagnostic summaries.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot sophisticated diagnostic equipment to ensure peak operational performance.
  • Oversee departmental quality control initiatives to ensure compliance with IAC accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support structural heart interventions and surgical planning.
  • Document patient findings meticulously within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related health science field.
  • Current RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) certification via ARDMS or CCI required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a high-acuity cardiac environment.
  • Proven leadership experience or a demonstrated ability to train and mentor staff.
  • Proficiency in advanced imaging techniques, including 3D imaging and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for patient-centered interactions.
  • Current BLS/ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
