Responsibilities
- Program Development: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001) tailored to our operational needs.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor local, provincial, and federal regulations to ensure full compliance with environmental and occupational health laws.
- Incident Management: Lead the investigation of accidents, near-misses, and environmental incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Training & Education: Conduct regular safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills to keep employees informed and prepared.
- Auditing: Perform internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between management, employees, and regulatory bodies, presenting clear EHS reports and recommendations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification: Professional designation such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional), or CHST (Certified Health and Safety Technician) is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in EHS management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in EHS software, data analysis, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence change and train diverse audiences.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a focus on root cause analysis and preventive action.
